Burkburnett Dallas Morning News, February 24, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Burkburnett, Texas, Feb. 23. - A meeting was held in the Chamber of Commerce offices here to reorganize the Boy scout movement here.  E. E. Voss of Dallas was present and made an address.  Officers of the local American Legion post offered to sponsor the movement and a meeting was called to be held in the Legion Hall on Feb. 29."
San Augustine Dallas Morning News, February 28, 1928.  "Special to The News.  San Augustine, Texas, Feb. 29. - The Boy Scouts have charge of the city Saturday.  Several arrests were made and fines ranging in price from aC to 25 cents were collected from each traffic violator."
Asherton The Asherton Tribune, March 25, 1928.  "Every scoutmaster and troop committee chairman in Southwest Texas Council should have received last week the rules for the big Scout handicraft contest.  Which scout in each troop is going to win the scout knife, and which Asherton, Dimmit County troop in the area will win that Indian teepee."
San Benito Dallas Morning News, April 1, 1928.  "Special to The News.  San Benito, Texas, March 31. - Women f the lower Rio Grande Valley have become interested in the ten-acre site donated to the Boy Scouts of this section for a camp and a movement is on foot to build one of the finest clubhouses in South Texas.  The land is the gift of Charles Perry of Harlingen."
Cross Plains Dallas Morning News, April 8, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Cross Plains, Callahan Co., Texas, April 7. - The first steps toward the organization of Boy Scouts in Cross Plains were taken at a banquet given for the boys, their fathers and the business men.  More than fifty boys were present and at least two and possibly three troops will be organized."
Grand Prairie Dallas Morning News, April 14, 1928.  "Form Scout Troops at Grand Prairie.  Organization of two Boy Scout troops at Grand Prairie was completed at installation ceremonies held Friday night by H. E. James, assistant Scout executive of Circle Ten Council.  With fourteen boys as members, the First Methodist Church troop was instituted and I. A. Couch was installed as scoutmaster.  H. F. McCormick was installed as scoutmaster of the First Baptist Church troop, consisting of ten boys."
Big Sandy Dallas Morning News, April 15, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Boy Scout Troop at Big Sandy Organized.  Big Sandy, Texas. April 14.- L. A. Bryan, Scout executive of Marshall, came here and organized a scout troop recently, known as troop 18, with twenty-one scouts made members.  John W. Proilero was made scout master, with three patrols, whose leaders are John Mason Mings, Cyril Bennett and Gordon Wood."
Smithville Dallas Morning News, April 18, 1928.  "Special to The News. Smithville, Texas, April 17. - The Boy Scout troops have been organized here with J. Elmer House and R. A. Tullis scoutmasters."
Paducah Dallas Morning News,  April 22, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Paducah, Cottle Co., Texas, April 21. - Boy Scout leaders of Paducah have agreed to join with five other counties of this section, Childress, Hardeman, King, Fcard and Knox, in forming a district council to have headquarters at Quanah.  The district director will work from there.
"Paducah has raised more than $800 for this work and expects to make it $1,000.  Paducah now has one troop of Boy scouts and will organize another when this work is begun."
Trinidad Dallas Morning News, April 23m 1928.  "Boy Scouts Make Trip to Trinidad.  More than fifty Boy Scouts from Troop 1, Dallas returned home late Sunday afternoon from a week-end camping trip to Trinidad.  They made the trip in autos, leaving Dallas at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon...Members of Troop 1 of the Trinidad Boy Scouts were honor guests at the camp fire."
Johnson Dallas Morning News, April 25, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Scout Troops Being Formed in Johnson.  Cleburne, Texas, April 24. - Loys Sessions, scout executive for Johnson and Ellis Counties, part of Circle Ten Council, has been active in the organization and reorganization of troops here.
"Troop One has been organized at the Anglin Street Presbyterian Church.  W. E. Abbas is scoutmaster and H. H. Meredith and Mickey Cass are assistant scoutmasters.  This troop has fifteen boys.
"Troop Four has already been reorganized at the First Presbyterian Church under the leadership of Dr. W. C. Sherrard, scoutmaster, and Charles Doud, assistant scoutmaster.
"One or more troops will be organized at the First Baptist Church Wednesday night."
Joshua Dallas Morning News, April 25, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Scout Troops Being Formed in Johnson.  Cleburne, Texas, April 24. - "A new troop of Boy scouts will be organized at Joshua Thursday night.  This troop will be sponsored by the Methodist Church there.  Mr. Sessions will be present and a local court of honor will be formed.  Awards will be made to several boys."

Farmersville Dallas Morning News, July 4, 1928. "Lions' Club Sponsoring Farmersville Scouts.  The Farmersville Boy Scouts are being reorganized under the sponsorship of the Lions' Club of that city.  Two troops will be formed under the new organization, it is planned.  the club appointed a committee from its membership composed of C. B. Fielder, Levi Wilson and J. L. Purvin to assist in the organization.  About forty boys have already signed up to become members of the two troops.  R. W. Wright Jr. and Houston Harvey, who have had experience in scout work, are assisting in the reorganization."

Tulia Dallas Morning News, July 10, 1928.  "Special to The News. Central Plains Scout Move is Progressing.  Scouting is having a very rapid growth in the newly organized Central Plains Council, Boy scout of America, E. L. Roberts, scout executive of this area, declares.
"At the beginning of the year, when the area was organized there were only three registered troops in the area.  ON July 1 there were nine troops, with troop meeting and organizing in Matador, Lockney Kress, Tulia, Happy, Hereford and Olton.  This brings the scout enrollment close to 300, against 60 as of April 1."
Garland Dallas Morning News, July 12, 1928.  "Boy Scouts at Garland To Study Life Saving.  Boy Scouts of Garland will be given a course in Red Cross life saving and resuscitation methods next Friday with Miss Ada Miller, executive secretary, and Raymond Gokey, director of life saving for the Dallas County Chapter of the Red Cross, in charge."
Kirbyville Dallas Morning News, July 15, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Kerrville, Texas, July 14. - As a part of their third annual sightseeing trip the Kirbyville Boy Scout troup  is spending several days camping on the Guadalupe about five miles from the Westminister encampment.  Eighteen boys are making the trip, which will last about three weeks, and includes Austin, Kerrville, San Antonio and Galveston, according to W. A. Dowling, the scoutmaster who accompanies the boys."

F. Shumway, scout executive of the Chisholm Trail area with Headquarters in Abilene, appeared before local churches and presented the proposition and solicited aid of the congregations in the scout movement.  One church of this city has voted to sponsor one troop of Boy Scouts.  One church at Miles and two at Winters are sponsoring the movement, and it is expected that at least one more troop will be sponsored here, making five troops for the counties."

Lewisville Dallas Morning News, July 18, 1928.  "Lewisville to Form Troops of Boy Scouts.  Organization of a Boy scout troop at Lewisville, Denton County, has been started under the leadership of W. A. Zischang of Dallas,  Boy Scout field executive for the M.-K.-T. Railway.  the troop will be recruited by Jack McCollum, Scoutmaster, and Olen Parker, Assistant Scoutmaster."

Dallas Morning News, August 19, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Moran, Sahackelford Co., Texas, Aug. 18. - Fifteen Boy Scouts of Moran recently returned from a trip of 1000 miles.  The boys, together with four Moran men, went in cars to Carlsbad, N.M., where they inspected the Carlsbad Caverns.  From there the troop was taken to Artesia, Santa Fe and other points of interest.  They camped out during the trip, cooking their own meals.  Many interesting places in West Texas were also visited by the scouts.
"Scoutmaster C. D. Duff, Cecil Knight, A. J. Taylor and Bert Brooks were the men who accompanied the scouts on the trip."

Pharr Dallas Morning News, September 16, 1928.  "Pharr Boasts of First Kiwanis-Owned Clubhouse.  Pharr. HIdalgo Co., Texas, Sept. 15. - Pharr, down in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, has a Kiwanis Club not yet 2 years old which enjoys the distinction of owning its own clubhouse, the first Kiwanis clubhouse in the world....It contains a room for Boy Scouts, who are sponsored by the club, and has a locker for each scout, as well as shower bath accommodations."
Carrizo Springs The Carrizo Springs Javelin, Nov. 9, 1928. "Carrizo Springs Troop No. 11 is registering, sponsored by the Rotary Club under the leadership of Scoutmaster John D. Carpenter and Assistant scoutmaster R. G. Collier.  These two young men have pledged themselves to secure the interest of a large number of men of the community in the Boy Scout program."

Mount Vernon Dallas Morning News, November 26, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Mount Vernon, Texas, Nov., 15. - Father and Son Banquet Held at Mount Vernon.  A father and son banquet was held Friday in honor of the Boy Scouts organization recently formed here.  J. Rundell, a scout visitor form Mount Pleasant, explained the objectives of scouting and superintendent Frank Morgan of the Mount Vernon schools praised their ideals."
Nacogdoches Dallas Morning News, December 18, 1928.  "Special to The News.  Goy Gets Eagle Scout Badge.  Nacogdoches, Texas, Dec. 17. - Albert Brewer, member of Boy Scouts of Nacogdoches, was given the Eagle Scout badge in a ceremony at the Episcopal rectory.  Scout Executive H. C. Tinney conferring the honor.  This makes the thrid Eagle badge to be won by Nacogdoches Boy Scouts, winston Powere and Carlton Carter having been given the badge a year ago."
